I have a '93 LS 400 with 125k milage.
How much of the front seats are leather? I notice that the part of the seat that I sit on feels so much different than the rest of the seat. Wondering if the only part of the seat with leather is where I sit on the seat and the rest of the seat is made up of a man-made product.

Or is it all leather and since the car is 17 years old that the rest of the leather has changed with age.

I know of two great products to re-condition the leather, however, if only part of the seat is leather, then trying to re-condition the other non-leather parts may not work.

I reupholstered 2 sets of seats in an SC, and from what I can, it is all leather. Top and bottom cushions are leather, and some of the larger plastic pieces on the seats are wrapped in leather

i haven't tried it yet, but there is an interesting recent post on a product called "leatherique". if anyone tries it, please post the results.

LS400 is full leather, only the rear panel on the seat back is upholstered with some fabric + the cover on the bottom of the cushion where the adjustment buttons are, is made of plastic

I found my self a decent interior, and then gave it a good cleaning, used some leather putty for the small cracks. And freshened up the colour with a custom made sort of paint that you brush on using a high density sponge.

After that I added a 'sealer' + 'protector'

I too haven't heard of leather putty. Do you have a brand name?

I'll look into the Black Magic brand. I was planning on buying the leatherique product. Only negative about the leatherique is it is suggested that it is sits for 24 hours and the car interior needs to be warm.

I believe that everything is leather. It probably has never been treated or cleaned properly. I am assuming that if I use Black Magic or Leatherique product that everything will feel almost new again.

For conditioner I use LEXOL reccommended by all the good detailers. I had a guy in Phoenix do the leather putty and then he painted and sealed the leather. Looks like new.

I use Lexol and I find it to be pretty good. However, some people swear by Leatherique. The process of application seems very labor intensive, though.

That putty is used to fill cracks so the leather won't tear any further. The colour was custom made for my interior. Sort of glue, but it has almost the same colour as my leather and can be 'painted', but the stuff I used ain't really paint.

Thank you Aisa-H.T. for the information on the leather putty. I do have one small rip that this would be great to use.

I'll try Lexol and find out where I can by the leather putty in my color.
