not really, this hasnt been proven on the LS to be very effective in terms of mpg.

mainly because the people who claim gains are replacing dirty clogged up stock filters with nice and clean new K&Ns.

replace a clean OEM filter with a clean k&n and see if theres a difference and THEN il be convinced.

With my last 2 tanks I got an identical 18.8 MPG. That's probably 3/5 city, and 2/5 highway at ~70 MPH. Both tanks also include a lot of drive-thru activity (i.e. McDonald's), so for this tank, I'm abstaining from going to any drive-thrus to see if my mileage increases, and by what amount.

Heck no. I work out 2-3 times a week, eat the food, and maintain a healthy weight.

Everyone seems to be getting pretty good gas mileage. Mine is similar to sonyman's. I don't drive with a heavy foot. Do I need a tune up? I'm just over 85k now.

Maybe half the tank has been highway mileage and the rest city driving. If it was mostly highway, I'd get maybe low 20's.

how heavy are VIP rims (wald, rays, work etc.) that are 18's and 19? those rims would decrease your mpg i bet.

depends on which company/wheel you get and the process used to make them.

my ls with its 20" Trafficstars still gets ~18-20mpg city

I did a trial run with a 91 lexus with 200,000 miles from Orange County to San Diego and back to Orange County at 62-65 MPH and got 23.8mpg this is the highest so far, I run a K&N air filter with all snythetics fluids in the car I don't know if all this helps but I normally get 21-22MPG on the freeway and a total of 18-19 miles town and freeway driving. I also found running my tires at 34 pounds pressure seems to help some. I heard that the later lexus from 2000 and up get better mileage due to better engine design ??????

My engine was always running cold before. Needle at 1/4 mark always. Was getting 14 mpg.

Changed my thermostat now needle sits 2mm above half mark. Getting 18 mpg now.

New air filter next.

Tried using iridium plugs and lost gas mileage does anyone know much about the iridium plugs I lost 2.5 mph on a normal run I check. NEOFAT OR PURE DRIFTER have you guys got any info on the iridium plugs and are they ok in a 91 lexus a friend gave me a set after selling his car a 91 lexus same as mine. The only thing I did notice the car seems to run smoother I pulled our my old platium plugs with 102,000 miles and they still looked decent.
