Just out of curiousity, do you think if you have nice and heavy chrome rims on your car will hurt your MPG by a few miles?

IMO. heavier rims = less gas mileage

Smile My 2 cents

I don't know why all of you are getting such lousy mileage, I'm getting 24+ mpg with 4 people in the car driving hard through the mountains!... and on so cal lousy gas (premium)... though i take care of the maintanence (myself)... mobile 1 synthetic, fuel injector cleaner, k&n drop in air filter, bosch plantium 4 spark plugs, new cap and rotors... 121k miles on my '93 LS400... oh yeah, and replaced the 2 front o2 sensors (common mistake, people forget to change these after 100k miles... makes a huge difference)... got them for $227 for 2 at autopartsplace.com ...and yeah, if i'm racing hard on the freeway over 135mph my fuel mileage drops to around 19mpg, but have never gotten less than that. ...and also my shocks and tires are shot and I still get this mileage (soon to be remedied)... the minimum i will get on a tank of gas is 375 miles... usually drive around 450 miles per tank... i'm just easy on takeoff... who cares if someone takes off faster... i'm more comfortable than they are

If you get rid of those spark plugs and buy some OEM or iradium plugs you might get even better MPG

I thought about it, but i was too lazy to order them... will probably switch soon as gas prices keep going up. Anyone had any experience with the tornado yet? Is it worth the money?

As a comparison here in Australia I've just returned from a family trip of about 1000km ( 620 miles) with 4 of us and full load of gear and by my calculations my 90 Celsior gave me about 25 - 26 mpg. That's working on a US gallon of 3.78 litres and running at 100kph (65 mph) and using our standard 91 octane unleaded fuel. Oh and I have only 120 000 km ( 75000 mi ) on the clock. The car is completely unmodified and probably wants the O2 sensors replaced and the spark plugs and leads still so I think I could expect even better economy in the future.....

Still fairly new to the Lexus experience but VERY impressed.

With 2 persons that has 24+ gas mileage using Bosch Platinum spark plugs.
Is it possible that Bosch Platinum spark plugs provide better gas mileage?
Just a thought.

My old worn OEM plugs gave me 24mpg+. I changed them and haven't seen any improvement in gas mileage, but still compiling mileage data...
