Some updates:
Had the tranny fluid changed. It seemed to be slipping, especially when cold. Earlier changes were done at mobil express. I know they didn't use proper fluid so I went to closest Toyota dealer and purchased the fluid, also bought a quart of Lucas Stop Slip($12) and had a local shop do the work. WORLDS OF DIFFERENCE! Insist on Toyota Fluid and use the Lucas as well when doing changes on high mileage trannys.
Took it to Sears for suspension diagnosis (free) they said I needed new front struts and mounts, plus lower ball joints. (I have clunking noise when going over speed bumps or small potholes) Right at $1000 for them to do it. I can buy the parts for around $350 and have my guy do it for around $200 labor.
Averaging 19.7 mpg and 27 mph right now. Not great, but not bad either.
The ride is spectacular. I love this car!
