Default 96 drivers seat w/memory - ECU problem?

i took the seat out to fix the heaters
i put the seat back and i can't any of the motors to work
the lumbar works (doesn't go thru ECU)
i hear the relay click inside the ECU when i move 1 of the manual switches
i have voltages in all the right places (all fuses are OK)
i checked all the connections in the seat in case i knocked 1 out, but they are all seated correctly
i can't believe that it is just a coincidence that the ECU decided to pack it in

OK, i guess i need a long talk with my mechanic
when i had the seat out i noticed that the headrest wasn't connected, so i connected it (i thought they missed it when they last worked on the heaters)
i disconnected the headrest & now i have motion back
i think the sensor must be feeding bad info to the ECU & it refuses to do anything
i'll leave it for a warmer day (next spring)!

If you want a seat ECU, I have a spare one that I'm not using, you can have it for fifteen dollars. I tested it today, it works.
