Question Picked up a 97 LS400, some repair questions

Hey guys,

I picked up a 97 LS400 for quite cheap, and most things are (or, were) in good standing. I have a few questions for some parts and problems I'm hoping the community can shed some light on.

First, I need to replace the last pair of mufflers. I have the parts, the old ones removed but need to purchase new exhaust seal gaskets. I can't find the part number, or any listing for them online and not sure where to get. I'd prefer to not get ganked by the Lexus Parts Dealer if at all possible

Second, had some signs of a weak battery and replaced it (previous battery was far underrated). Now all good, except one of the previous signs persists; I still have a phantom alarm trigger.

It happens every other week or so, the alarm just starts going off. Hit the disarm button, stops, then goes off again. If I open the car door, then close it again, it seems to stop the cycle.

I'm fine with just disarming the alarm entirely, I live in a relatively low crime area and I don't think I have to worry about someone breaking into my very stock LS400 kid-carrier. Just hoping there's a real solution out there.

Thanks for any guidance!

Welcome to the forum. For the muffler, here is a diagram showing part numbers:

(remove the spaces between the letters before .com)

Awesome site, thank you very much! That answered that question, and I have the part on its way (in part to this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...xus-parts.html)

This forum is great!

Ok, now I'm thoroughly confused.

Just now, come outside and the lights and fan are on. Fan blowing full on, key isn't in the ignition. It's cold, so I just popped the terminals off the battery and decided to mess with it when it is warm.

Any ideas, or just take it in for a service stop? Seems something wrong in the electronics, and will need a more complete diagnostic than I can give it...
