Default LS430 18"wheels 5 spoke style on 99 LS400 - Which tires

Hello All,

I just bought a some 5 spoke ls430 18"wheels, they look very good on my car. I’m waiting on my coilovers to come in.

I’ve installed the wheels, but I want to get a new set of good tires. But I have a few questions for those who have the same setup.

I currently have 245 will 255 work? Any issues with rubbing? FYI I will be lowering the car a few inches once I get the coilovers.

I would like to reduce the road noise that is caused by my current tires, which tires do you guys recommend to limit the amount of road noise? Also which are the best all around?

Thank you

I wouldn't consider tires until you actually lower the car. I am betting if you lower 2-3" 55's will be out of the question - will rub.

Why do you want 255 instead of 245? what aspect ratio?

you want to completely eliminate road noise? buy GOOD (read, not cheapie $80 made in some random part of china tire) tires, and leave the suspension STOCK.

yea, stock would be better. my friend has the 18" LS430 rims on his 99 LS and it looks good, without anything being dropped. just stock suspension. plus, the stock tires for those rims are 245/45/18

That is off to a good start though. These 430 wheels are definitely appropriate for LS cars.

Definitely looks good - a 1" to 2" drop would be nice.

Nyx -- got any more pictures? I'm thinking of buying these wheels for my black 96. I would love to see your car from more angles. Thanks!
