Default Headlight resto/polish kits. Has anyone used one?

Just curious if anyone has used these headlight restore kits I'm seeing on the shelves? If so with what results? Some of us Lexus owners can be fairly picky you know...

Mine really aren't bad but I'm currently replacing one because of a crack and of course I want the other to look as good as the new one.

Please let us know if you have had success, or failure/frustration, with this product. I see 3M offers one, I consider them to be a reputable company...

Thanks!

I used the same Crystalview product described in this thread on my 00 LS headlights and had very good results: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...eadlights.html

The more permanent products have a clear sealer that is applied as the last step. I refinished my headlights with Crystalview over a year ago and I can't detect a change since then but I haven't driven my car as much as in previous years.

many OTC stuff like the 3m kit or the meguiars kit works great. plastx works great with oxidized headlights.

Does anyone know when they switch from glass to plastic headlight housings?I know my 92' LS has glass housings, but my 01' GS has plastics that need to be polished more often. I have had great results with Plastx works very well.

Just to add, consider getting some sort or clear film to put on the headlights immediately after you restore them. They'll stay newer for much longer.

I've had good luck with both Zaino and 3M products, and sometimes a combo of the two. A rotary tool helps with the polishing and buffing. Just don't go too crazy with the rpm, pressure, or time in one spot.
