97 LS400 - No clock, outside temp or climate control
Looking for some help. My clock, outside temp reading and climate control has died. None of the buttons for heater, A/C work. The heater fuse is good. Nothing in the owners manual suggest another fuse could be bad. I checked out a couple of online parts places and there appears to be a number of relays that might be an issue. Any help you could give would be appreciated.
While I'm at it, anyone know where to buy the LED for my radio?

Sounds familar. Mine is a `96 LS400 so it could be the same issue. Basically, I had my cigatette lighter out (for the gps) and somehow a penny fell into the hole and shorted it out (saw the spark). No clock, or outside temp; didn't try the climate control. Looked into the owner's manual (pages 212 and 214) and determined Fuse #11 was the culprit (15 amp, bottom row third from the left, under the driver's side instrument panel). It's called FR CIG and effects the Front cigarette lighter, SRS airbag system, air conditioning system and clock. That was it. Replaced it and everything's fine now.
LED is really a LCD. Try this: http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/...uctNum=CWM4931

Thanks jz4203. Had my gps plugged in cigarette lighter. stopped car for an hour. when I started it up no climate control. Checked the heater fuse and was OK. Never thought the lighter would have caused the problem, but it did. Thanks to you am enjoying ice cold ac once again.

I was going to buy a 1997 Pearl White Coach edition for my first car from a sketchy *** dealer, and it had the same issue with the fuse. I researched it and figured out the super simple fix, but the dealer was reallly shady and wouldn't sell me the car the day after I test drove it. Wish that deal had worked out, would've been a sweet $1400 boat
