Default Pics Finally

Hi All,
Finally got around to taking some pics of my newly acquired 97' Coach Edition LS400. Car was originally owned by my father who bought it brand new back in 1997 replacing his ol 1989 450 SEL. He hasn't been driving it much since he's gotten older so he gave me the son discount & sold it to me for $5000.00.
Only has 51K miles It's practically brand new . Paint is flawless (garaged) & the Coach leather is clean & fresh.
I'm pretty much going to keep it stock since I enjoy the luxury ride & comfort.
Don't get me wrong I have 2 other vehicles with lowered suspensions & big wheels to play with. This is my new luxury liner

If you want to keep it stock, by all means do.

But at the very least, do SOMETHING about those tires...they look like truck/SUV tires.

Clean LS Same year and color as mine.

I agree LOL I would think for a 60 series tire it would have a lower profile look.
The tires are Michelin XGT V4 Pilots 225/ 60 16. I believe there discontinued.
Will be switching to Kuhmo LX Platinums next.

Your father may have replaced a 1989 420SEL with the 97 LS400 instead of replacing a 450SEL which for the U.S. was sold from the 1973 through 1980 model years. I sold my 1973 450SEL in 1979 and know a bit about the W116 series -- my favorite Mercedes series except for the W100 "Grand Mercedes".

Your 97 LS looks very nice -- including the wheels and tires. Keep the 225/60-16 tires so you don't screw up the nice cushy ride.

Here are the specs on the 97 LS including the Coach Edition: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/1997/1997LSspecs.pdf The specs are in error since HID headlights were never available and rear seat heaters were not available on U.S. spec models.

I just made the statement about the tires looking kinda big because my stock 225/60 16s didn't bulge out that much from the wheel; they were much more flush.

Wow... what father's would do for their son right? Thats awesome man... What are your other 2 cars? Wish I can afford one more but no room in the driveway hahahahaa. Very limitted space since my bros have cars so we have like 6 cars all together including my SC4 and Titan.

Kansas,
You are correct my mistake it was a 79' not 89'. I always thought the 450 SEL was such a nice ride. Not as much power as the LS400, but for the times it was pretty good. I believe it utilized Bosch fuel injection & had smooth power deliver.
Yes, I'll keep the tire size to perserve the cushy ride. The wheels were a dealer option my dad got. Not bad looking, not the best looking..but I like them better than the OEM alloys.

Whoa and now you the LS... Thats quite a collection. And you really use all of em? I can barely think of what to use mine for. I have a titan. I purchased it because I used to ride a motorcycle. I use it when I go track days with buddies. I'd like to sell it tho and get a more economic daily driver car. Owning 2 V8s is pretty tough. $74 bucks to fill the truck (24 gallon) then about another $50-60 to fill the SC400 since I put 91 on that at about 17gallons.

Anyone needs/wants to buy an 05 nissan Titan LE?
