I'm looking at a 91 that the seller advertised as having "lifetime suspension". I emailed him a question about it and he just answered that the original airbag suspension had been replaced with springs that carry a lifetime warranty. Is this a common change-out? Sounds pricey to me...Any issues to be aware of with such a conversion? Thanks in advance!

You mean it has been converted from Air Suspension too Coilovers? (shocks with struts)

Should give less problems in anyway compared too the Lexus OEM air suspension system

Ask them what brand the replacement / conversion shocks and springs are made by then search this forum for that brand name. You'll see others experience with that replacement brand. Some are better than others based on their real world experience.

it also depends on everyones definiton of "lifetime" seeing as they might be thinking you will only own the car for a few years.

a lifetime warranty on springs is pretty worthless. they are not a wear item.

to answer the other question, people commonly replace failed air suspensions with regular strut type. it generally cost much less than replacing the air suspension.

Thanks for the information. The guy is giving me the run around right now about where to see the car. It's on Craigslist. He's gunshy about lowballers I think.
