1990+ Most Miles Driven
I have owned a few Lexus cars and suv's over the years, but I was curious how these cars hold up over 10 years with 100k+ miles. Has anyone driven more than 200k for that matter?

My uncle have 1993 Toyota Celsior (Lexus LS400) back in Thailand with 310,000 km so roughly about 193,000 mile and the He so far changed the timing belt twice at 140,000km (87000mile) and 280,000Km (175,000 mile). He says that the engine run strong with a little blue smoke when start up which is normal. There are some exterior breaks down (such as the power seat is not function properly, the LCD screen is dark) but that's normal. Even in Bangkok where the weather is hot and humid, he never had that car overheat or break down while he was driving.

So how long DOES the timing belt last....?
In all the time I've been on this web page, I have yet to see a posting from anyone that has had a timing belt break (except one fellow whose belt broke after the water pump siezed up!).
My theory is that you can go way past the recommended timing belt change interval with little risk.
Do any of you high-milers recall the longest you had a belt in there before changing it?

The local dealer said on his 10+ years working as a Lexus machanic, he only seen two Lexus timing belt break and both of them didn't damage the engine at all!! And both cars have over 100,000mile on the clock.

amazing reliability
My dad had 200,000mi on his '92LS before selling it last month. the only thing that went wrong in the 10yrs of ownership was that the power steering went out last yr. We know someone with a '91LS that has over 300,000mi on his and it's still going. what a machine! btw, my dad "upgraded" today to an SC430...if it was anything like our previous LS, we'll be in the lexus family for at least another decade.

150k and going
I've got over 150k on my 90 ls400. Original timing belt.
Certain things do go bad on these cars though. Expensive things such as:
A/C condensor
Power steering pump 3 times
Air Shocks front and rear
Dash lights
Control Arm Bushings front and rear
About the only thing that hasn't gone bad is the Timing Belt
