Hello

I know this sounds pretty weird for some maybe but does anyone know if its possible to change the hood and grill on my 91' ls400 and put on the newer 95' hood and grill? Would it be a direct fit?

are the headlights the same or do i have to change those as well?

i've got some bad scratces on my hood and instead of just painting the hood i thought of switching to the new hood and get a vip grill also.

I think the newer hood and grill look soo much more nice and clean than the old one :-)

but that will not be a direct fit.
89-94 ls400s body panels are interchangeable, but not with 95 and newer.

But did they change the dimensions on the car or do the hood just not fit? I just think the models looks soo much the same. only the hood minor differences?

What could the difference on the hood be?

wont come cllose, and won't bolt on. the 95 is the newer UCF2x chassis, the 91 is the first gen UCF1x chassis.

Look at the top row of pics showing grill and hood lines. UCF20 III (Gen 2) hood is a little narrower than UCF10 (Gen 1) hoods.

Hmm okay. Seems you guys know whats you're talking about :-)

So the bolts wont fit the racks?

I've done alot of mods on my old Toyota Corolla '86 so i'm used to do difficult things. Hmm thinking it must work out some how. Are the fenders also different?

Maybe i should just leave it as is though i'm thinking of a huge rebuild with wald bodykit and new paint job etc.

Will not be a direct bolt on and the chasis is different. With ALOT of hard work and ALOT of money, anything is possible. The money you would spend to ATTEMPT to get the car to look right and flow together well, you could have gone ahead and bought a 95.

Yeah thats what i think to now. Will live with the grill then.

Another question i've got. I felt in love with this bodykit from WALD: http://l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=714

But it only fits on 95-97.

So would it be a mess to fit that too? I know the hood might be to much headche, but what with bumpers and sideskirts?

Keep in mind that i have done alot of fiberglass modding before. Hmm but i dont know if that wald kit is fiberglass. but if it is i can clean out the small differences if it dont fit 100%. Must be easyer than fitting the hood.

The problem here in denmark is that det taxes here in Denmark is sky high.. I paid $17500 for the car this year. the road tax is $1400 and the insurance is $1600 a year. And thats just for other crash into me. The price is dubble up if i want insurance on my car if i crash. And then the basoline costs $2 pr liter. So driving cars in Denmark is VERY exspensive.

A 95' Lexus will cost about $330000 for me to buy.

I'm 27 years old and this is my 14th car :-) i "build" my way up to this old car hehe. But i love Toyota and lexus and know its reliable. Would rather have a 91' lexus than a 01' audi something or whatever.

Yeah you're right. I will find a kit that fits my lexus. That one in the picture there looks very nice :-P

The Anceltion kit and the Wald Executive kit Pure Drifter posted are my favorite for the first gen. Here is a link for the Anceltion kit, also on Memoryfab. http://www.memoryfab.com/products/detail_aero_35/ . I just noticed it is discontinued. If you look around you may still be able to find it somewhere, new or used.

Wald has that V3 kit that you listed for the 95 on the second page of the link that Puredrifter sent you for our first gen's. Is listed as the Wald Exchange V3.
