Default 95 LS400 rear airstrut bad question

hello all! i just picked up a 95 ls400 and need to drive quite a long way, i searched the archives but could not find the answer to my question so i was hoping someone could shed some light for me...
the drivers rear air strut is leaking pretty bad causing the motor to run constantly...
is it possible to disconnect the two rear bags and ride without hurting the car while it's sitting on 20's?
can i also disconnect the front and not have issues?
thanks in advance for the advice and help!

From my understanding running them without air can cause damage. I dont own an LS nor do i own airbags lol. (I Wish) But from what i read thats what it is.

it will cause excessive tire wear from camber, but all it should do is destroy your struts (and your back!)

^^How bad is the leak? Do you actually hear the air escaping? 1500 miles on a bad a/s is a no no, trust me. I had a '95 myself with a/s and it was the worst when they went bad. The car will try to level itself out lose air in all 4, compressor will eventually shut off and then you'll be slammed. Looks good, but horrible ride. IMO don't do! Sorry for the bad news.

when i'm driving it constantly raises and lowers the car, when i stop at a light or something like that i can hear it leaking. i know it won't rub if it's all the down in the rear (not sure about front) but i don't want to burn that pump out either. (does look good though) but that brings me back to the original question of will it hurt anything mechanically if i disconnect them. i can deal with a rough ride for a while i guess as long as nothing is getting damaged

you can't just "turn off" the air suspension components and still drive the car, it won't stay at a usable height. imagine what would happen if you tried to drive a car with struts but no springs...

just pay up for either a coil spring conversion or replacing the OEM air strut.

i have driven some pretty terrible suspension set ups. i understand what you mean when you say "usable". i guess i will scour the local paper for a wrecked LS and buy the car and get all the parts i need to make the car perfect.

thanks for all the help
