My New 1995 LS400-Some Niggles
I collected my car on Thursday night and drove some 200 miles home (it should have been 96 miles), so much did i enjoy the experience. It drives so smoothly and qiuetly, no squeaks or rattles (unlike my main driver, a diesel engined VW Transporter van). This was quite disturbing at first, especially sat at traffic lights wondering if it was still running. The car is in really excellent condition all round-the interior belies the 221,000 miles now on the clock.
However, costing less than £1,000, there were bound to be a few faults, and indeed there are some, none of which detract from the pleasure of owning this car. I am hoping people on here can point me in the right direction to sort them out:
I believe the 95 model uses a normal key and a seperate fob for remote locking rather than everything being on the key. There was this fob
in the armrest. It doesn't look the same as the one in the owners handbook-so is one for the LS400 model? I have seen the reprogramming instructons here for an ES300-will the same work on my 1995 LS400? And how do I put in a fresh battery-there is no obvious place for it to go (and no marks on the fob anywhere to indicate where it should go)? I don't want to break it prising it apart in the wrong place!
One thing I really wasn't expecting (but I had rea about) is that the radio/tape/CD is excellent, and the sound clarity is better than EVERY standard car set up I have ever had, and better that a few installs I have had fitted to my previous cars. I did plan to change the head unit, but the standard set up is good enough for me. Leaves me more money to play with in changing the wheels and lowering the car....just can't leave alone now.

That doesnt look like a lexus remote to me? Could be wrong, but its different to my 95 lexus remote. Aftermarket alarm perhaps?
Tried changing the bulb in the overhead light?
Rip out the motorola so you get that space back in the armrest. If its like mine was, its for the old analogue networks and unusable today.

The remote is a Lexus one as it is badged on the back. Wondering if it is from a 200/300 model.
Phone coming out on Satuday-forgot they were just analogue in 1995 (how we take mobile phones for granted now).
Changed the bulb-no difference.Looks like a trawl on ebay. Have to look for a remote too if the one I have isn't for a 400.
