Default Question about timing belt change 98 LS400

Hey ,my buddy is finally getting aroung to helping me with the timing belt / water pump / ideler pullys .We are doing it at his house ,because he has alot more tools than me ,since he was a mechanic for 12 years .But he just wants to know if there are any "special tools" ,that are Lexus specific that he is going to need ?He doesn't want to be into it half way ,and realize that he doesnt have something .Thanks for your help guys .

Nope. Just metric tools, sockets, wrenches, etc. You'll need a torch and a huge impact wrench to get the main bolt off though. I'd recommend one of those ratchet wrenches because two of the bolts you have to take off on the fan bracket has very little room to work with. It's by the A/C compressor.

Good luck!
