Default Custom LS 400 Twin Turbo

I just talked to E.L. Prototypes and he said they can do a custom LS400 TT starting from $4,500. Anyone interested? Please let me know so i can inform him how many we need.

Is it really that cheap? Are you sure? Turboing the GS300 generally starts around $7000 unless you buy the parts and install it yourself. Turboing the 400 would be much harder than the 3.0 6 due to the lack of space.

Eric, the guy did it before so whoever does it first is not going to be a genuni pig. As far as I remember it was TT under the whole motor structure (he takes your engine out) pushing 8 PSI.

I am really interested in the TT on the LS400, I was wondering what size Twin Turbo is it, does it comes with the intercooler, all the piping, blow-off-valve, external wastegate, etc

Well,

If i have E.L. have to take my engine out. I might change some internal parts. i.e. Low compression JE piston (8.5-9.0), Manly rods, Moly rings, ARP studs and a strong gasket. If i am going with all the work, i will need to pump more than 8 psi. Most lightly i will be pumping 15 psi. Like it said, it was verbal estimation, nothing solid. I will stop by the shop sometime next week and talk to him personally.

With the engine work and turbo, my estimation would be around $7,000. The problem is this. I was going to get a high mileage or blown SC300 for around $2,000 and swap it with a 2JZGTE. The swap and engine would run me around $5,000. Therefore, with $7,000 i can get another car too with 320 bhp.

Unhappy

hmmm..turbo auto. ls400????? something doesn't sound nice to me....

if i don't change my trans. to manual like those crazy pimps in japan. i will not get turbo. i would rather spend that $4500 for nice sets of rims.

maybe S.C. sounds better...

Post any info you can get because I'm interested!
Right now it's between this company and TMEngineering and I don't want to wait 2 years until something is out. Did they specify specific years? Any problems if they do this for a SC? I also want to upgrade a few internal components. Like I wrote in my sig, i'm willing to take out another school loan for turbo

Nick, i'm with ya. I do look forward to TM's kit though, and hopefully Ethan will have something sooner than that. So, how 'bout some more info on E.L. Prototypes? We need to take a stand against all the turbo 2JZ's.
