Thanks for the reply .I did hear that the early 1st gen LS's had some braeking issues because the brakes were much too small for a larger car like the 400 .Lots of complaints of warped rotors ,and glazing .Mine still have good meat left on them ,and they look great and very smooth .
From what Ive heard anyway ,the ceramic pads are supposed to perform alittle better than oem .Who knows ,we'll see .Thanks again

Is the sensor tripped as soon as it touches the rotor ?

I wouldn't say instantly as there is a small amount of plastic housing (mayme 1/16"). I think it wouldn't take long especially under harder braking though.

If you still have to replace your brakes, I would recommend re-surfacing the rotors for both the lateral run out that causes the brake pulsation and for getting the slight grooves out of the rotors caused by the original brake pads as they wore into the rotors. If not, the new pads will wear into the grooves and cause brake squeaking every time you stop. The Akebono brake pads are premium pads. I highly recommend them. I just put the ISD pads on mine.
Also be careful when taking off the brake pads, their is a very small clip that holds the sensor on the inner pad. The clip slides down on the ear of the brake pad and the sensor has two very thin grooves that the clip locks the sensor to the pad. Be gentle and don't pop the clip off unless you are on solid ground. One of mine went flying and took 5 minutes to find it. The Clips do not come with new brake pads. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice .I used the Akebono Proact pads ,the guy at the my local auto parts store said they were the best pads ,so I went with them .I was pleasently suprised on how easy the pads were to change out .Right now ,Im just trying to figure out which sensor set off the break alarm .They both have just barley started to touch the rotor .
You are right about the clip that hols the sensor ,I LOST IT !!So for now I have the front sensor zip tied up and out of the way .I guess that I will have to go to Lexus and buy another one . Thanks again .

I threw away my old sensors last week and the dumster man took them away. Otherwise, I would have dug one out of the trash and Ohmed it to see if it was open. If a past post was correct about wiring the two wires together and closing the signal to turn the light out, then I would suspect one of your sensors is open and the others are closed. Open should not give any Ohms reading. Closed should give some type of value. If you and when you get a chance, check the rear sensor readings and then check the front. The majority will either read or not. The oddball will be the sensor that is leaving the light on. If I get a chance, I'll try to find the test on these sensors.

OK, that was quick, I found it. Take your ohm meter and check that there is continuity of pad wear indicator connector. If there is no continuity, replace the pad wear indicator.
Find the sensor that is open (no continuity)(no reading on your meter), that is the one that needs replaced.
