Default Renewing 98-00 HID using aftermarket' s headlight kits // DIY // Photos inside

DISCLAIMER:
Use this guide at your own risk. You are responsible for your own actions

OEM headlight' s chrome reflector are not very shiny like after market "made in china" headlight chrome reflector.
OEM headlight' s lens are cloudy, foggy & dirty.

So i decided to renew my OEM headlight' s chrome reflector & lens.

Type of headlights for LS400 98- 00 :
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/att...ions-be-47.pdf

My car's headlight were HID and the after market headlight which i bought was a Halogen type , so i decided to replace the lens and the chrome reflector from the after market headlight to my OEM headlight.
How i did that ?! check below.

Tools needed:
1- China after market Halogen headlight (cost me 93 $ for single headlight).
2- Oven or hair dryer ( i have used a hair dryer).
3- Flat head screwdriver

How to remove your headlight :
http://celsiorup.com/custom20/2079headlight_wash1.htm

How to remove lens:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...finishing.html
Remember to remove the Computer Light Control + bulbs +screws & anything which can be danger or damaged while you start heating the silicone sealant in oven or with a hair dryer.

China Headlight is Sporax brand

China Headlight' s lens & reflector removed using a hair dryer.

++++

Before (OEM lens and the chrome reflector):

After replacement of lens and the chrome reflector:

--

--

--

---
new lens at night with DRL + Parking light ON

---
New lens with Xenon ON

Thanks To " Made In China products" : D

I always say new headlights make a car look brand new. Even if the rest of the car doesn't. This is proof. I plan doing this on my GS.

Now clear bra them and it will never get like that again as you can keep replacing the film every few years.
My OEM chrome is is great shape inside the lens so i am not sure you had to replace it . I did find the new stanley headlights are built cheaper than the original ones from 98 .
The chromming is not as well done on the new oem parts .

check this out comparing by pictures between " OEM headlight chrome reflector + Lens " &
" Aftre market headlight chrome reflector + Lens " .

OEM LENS/Chrome reflector

---
After market LENS/Chrome reflector

---
OEM LENS/Chrome reflector

---
After market LENS/Chrome reflector

The after market Chrome reflector is more brighter +Whiter than OEM chrome reflector, This is what makes the headlight much better looking.
