Default coilover springs for UCF10

I am tired of the wheel well gap that I have with my 18's and Tanabe DF210's (more in the rear) and being on a budget means looking for an affordable solution. Has anyone ran coilover springs on their UCF10? If so, please let me know what brand or where to look at. I haven't measured the diameter needed for the coilover sleeve to clear the strut or the right spring height but I am looking for something that I can adjust between 2-3 inches. Does anyone have a thought? Will I be cutting the spring perch to be able to get the drop that I need with this kind of set up?

just buy Megans or some used coils if you want to get lower than the tanabes. any mix n match universal solution won't ever damp properly.

If you have to ask, you're better off buying a coilover replacement solution, it will put you back around $700-$1000 for a cheap set. Even less if you decide to go used.

But if you have access to machining equipment, and you can weld, and you do it all yourself, and have a good connect on your personal preference of shocks, you can save like $50 by buying the shocks and coilover springs seperate, making sure the shocks are properly valved for the springs' spring rate, and then modifying your stock assemblies to fit the springs.

Or you can get Megan coilovers, which have a wide range of adjustability, and not have to worry about modifying stock assemblies to fit anything. Megans are running between $800-$850 shipped to your door, new. You can always check the classified forum here on CL to see if anyone is selling coilovers used, which will save you some money.

Wow it seems like everyone swears by Megan's. I can take a hint. I will talk to my friend who works for them and get a set. Anyway, let's say I want to get a used set. Where in the hell is the classifieds? I also belong to mr2oc.com and we have a for sale section. Unless I'm that stupid that I can't find it.

That was the point in my post, to just go with megans because you'll only save like $50 if you do it the hard way.

I see. I thought I could get some GC's and cut the spring perch and weld a new one in and call it a day.

Yeah I've been looking. I found some BG coilovers of which I will not waste my money on. There's no way those are quality suspension. Here is the response I get from the person selling them on ebay: Dear hurleyboy237,

We have LS400 95~00.
We are just an e-retailer not manufacturer so we have no idea about the professional skills and it's the only picture we have.

- andreas_antonis2009
I was inquiring application for the first gens and if he could provide a shock dyno of the dampers. If their retailer do not know and have faith in what they're selling, they are not worth it.
