Default Tail Lamp Failure

I keep getting a tail lamp failure warning. The passenger side brake light on the trunk side is out. I changed the bulb and the fuse but the light is still out.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

Check the wiring harness on the left trunk hinge under the cover. Possible that one of the lines may have gotten pinched or burned out. If so, cut out burned area, replace with new wire. Trunk wire harness is pretty common problem.

did you get exactly the same bulb that came out when you replaced it? some bulbs work but they're sligtly different in wattage which will still cuase the failure light to activate.

normally this is a problem with LED bulbs due to the lower resistance and power draw.

Taillight does not come on.
(Headlight is normal) , start inspecting the following :-
1. TAIL Fuse (Instrument Panel J/B) located in driver side.
2. GAUGE Fuse (Instrument Panel J/B) located in driver side.
3. Taillight Control Relay (Instrument Panel J/B) located in driver side.
4. Light Failure Sensor
5. Light Control Switch
6. Body ECU

7. Wire Harness
