Default Brake wear.

This message came up saying BRAKE WEAR. I figure the front pads are bad, I only changed them about a year and a half ago, 10k miles.

How long do I have till they start grinding. I dont want to get to that point but I have to drive to NJ from NY, 250 mile trip and dont know if I should take the Lincoln instead. I rather take the LEX, but dont want to damage rotors.

Any one know how many miles I can get out of these pads?

Thanks

its pretty easy to change the pads..try to inspect them and see if they still have meat on them. if the light JUST came on then id say u can still go on that 250m trip. just dont be slamming ur brakes every single time.

check the rear pads, theres a sensor back there too.

the OEM pads last a LONG time, generally >45k miles.

Back ones were changed about 7k miles ago. Back ones can wear out so fast?

Anyhow, I decided to take the LEx on this trip, will baby it since its mostly highway driving.
I will open her up when I get home and see which side it is.

Thanks!

fronts should wear out more than the rear.
