Default opinions on price 00 Platinum LS

Hi all,

I'm a current GX owner and now wanting to get a sedan as second ride for the family.

Anyhow I need your opinions. I'm in Socal and located a clean 00 Platinum that has 117k miles. It's the SR package I believe cause it has the Nakamichi sounds.

Seller is the original owner and recently had the starter, water pump and bearings (not sure which) done at the Lexus dealer. He has all the records since new.

I saw pics and the car looks clean in and out. Best price he would do is $9000. What do you all think? I've seen some asking prices lower for others but not by much.

"SR" is the code for the sunroof option. Here are the specs for the 00 LS including the three Platinum Series variations: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/2000/2000LSspecs.pdf

If it is a Platinum and has Nak and heated seats, it is an SF like mine.

If I was selling my 00 LS Platinum - 107,000 miles and in very nice condition - I would probably hope to get $8,000 to $9,000 for it.

Was the timing belt and related parts replaced at 90,000 miles / 6 years?

I think 9K is very fair for that car, it looks to be in really good shape and having the service records is a big plus. Keep in mind the 90K service w/ starter is big bucks and will save you a lot down the road.

For a car to look that good, I think $9,000 is a fair price. I'd go in trying to bargain lower as always, but I would settle on $9k if he didn't budge.

I paid way more for my 99 LS a year ago...guess values have really dropped since then.

Thanks all.

I'm going to check out another 00 but it's non-platinum and see how close in options it has to this one. Also find out the service record. If it's comparable and I can get it for substantially less I may just do that. I do like the black interior and monochrome paint but if I can do $2000 less for another I can't refuse. I'm going to get an LS eventually.
