rear wheel came off car!
Sorry, haven't uploaded pics yet.
Passenger rear wheel came off, my Ichiba studs snapped while driving!
I was lucky, I was exiting and it snapped as I braked and rather then the wheel flying off and me sitting on frame, wheel stuck itself under the wheel well w/o damage to the rim, just ate up some tire face as it stopped.
But now i need new studs. I can get more ichiba...ill pass.
I was some ARP wheel studs for all 4 wheels @ 20mm equivalent.
Im trying to search for that spec, but they dont list for our car.
Anyone better at searching pls link me here so I can order it....

Yes, I have hubcentric rings.
Didnt torque, thats where i might have failed...
It was making noise when I was driving from the 818 to the OC area. But ignored it, so I drove pretty damn far before it all snapped.

But this came out of no where. I haven't touched the wheels in some time. Been driving over 6k since the last time I touched my wheels.
Then randomly on Friday it started making noise. Then later that night after about 150miles of driving on and off since the noise was heard it failed.
Friends installed new Ichiba studs on there so I can drive it until the ARP studs come in and they did torque it, but im hesitant to drive fwy for long and I feel its still making the noise and have vibration, but I could just be paranoid.
Could any other component of that side of the car be affected where it would continue to vibrate AFTER the studs have been replaced?
When doesnt seem to be bent, no leak in the tire...Even put a new ichiba spacer 20mm that was with the extra stud set...

It happened out of no where because the studs failed over time. It was fatiguing, which is why I hate using impact guns for lugs. I use impacts just to get the lugs in, but I always tighten it with a torque wrench. Sucks to hear about what happened. Hopefully you didnt' have any other problems.

It is normal of non heat treated studs to snap when used in an application that is not standardly made to be subject to high stress.
The shear (snap) rate of a stud is not usually needed to be high on a wheel stud .
The reason that they go is either from damaged holes on the wheels causing them to rock.
Over torquing or lack of torquing causing the stud to stretch each time and eventually failing as the metal has a lower shear rate .
H&R also sells wheel studs which are pretty good also for $2 a piece .
