I haven't. Is the current sense circuit an IC? Or possibly made from the large through-hole resistors and transistors near the large yellow transformer? I don't have the board in front of me, just looking at a picture so I can't even trace anything right now, but all these parts near each other make me think they're acting as an op amp.

I work in 480V & 208V distribution now, so I don't have the equipment to test stuff like this at my disposal. Just figured if it was a common problem and if someone knew exactly what to replace, it'd be easy enough to do myself. I think my best bet is to send it out to someone at this point. Thanks for the help though, Yamae. I appreciate it.

Tanin, sent you an email.

Scratchy- Don't give up so easy. I was hoping that Yamae or LS Cowby would respond to your question as to "where the Current Sensing Circuit is located?"
I have a 93 LS400 and have had problems with both my cluster and my ECM. I have solved many issues by following the advice of Yamae and LSCowboy. I of course like to hear about the sources for repair services and don't wish to talk anyone out of that alternative.
My situation is that I am retired and find that learning about and repairing these problems is great fun as a DIY hobby. I have very little knowledge about electronics, but I have learned to trust Yamae and LS Cowboy on these issues and I was hoping that one or both would reply to your post and offer some comments where we could gain knowledge. Good luck on fixing your problem.

Sorry to revive a thread that's been inactive for awhile. Buuuuut I tried searching this thread for "temp guage' and nothing seems to be similar to mine.

'93 LS400, all dash lights light up fine, no flickering, or intermittence. The temp gauge just doesn't read at all, also the RMP needle seems to read under the actual RPM's. For instance at idle it reads 0, and at 80MPH, it reads a tad under 2K.

Any ideas??

I have the same issue with my temp gauge when the air is cold. Taking longer and longer to light up as each year passes.

There are plenty of shops that will fix this, many of which are advertising on ebay. Research to find a reputable one, remove your cluster and mail it to them. Ask for a warranty!

My temp gauge is not bothering me enough to warrant the expense...........yet.

No, don't go with ebay.

We are a vendor and sponsor here and know these clusters better than anyone.

We don't do color changes with LS and it is impossible to change the color of the needles.

That's fine then. I just want my temp gauge to work, along with my RPM needle to read properly.

Any particular reason as to why the needle color can't be changed? Do they not function the same as the SC's?

My experience just now:
I ran my battery dead for 2 days. Turned on the car. no cluster lights, no tach, speedo, fuel, temp. But 4 lights did POST, and turn signal worked. Charge battery, no change. Remove, inspect all fuses, tap all relays. Magic. All works. Phew!

99 LS400 90k miles.

YMMV.

Dwight.

these lexus clusters seem to have many issues, from what i've seen, in the UCF20's.

Mine seems to act up on warm starts, sometimes the tach wont work, sometimes the speedo, but both start working again when you tap/hit the cluster cover. Easy fix haha
