engine cooling system problem..please help
My 90 LS has 250K miles now, never had a problem with cooling, engine temp guage never went over mid point. For the last year my radiator warning light has been on, my mechanic said it is the sensor, no big deal. I pulled out the interior carpet because i needed to clean a very big spill, the day I put the carpet back the engine over heated, but the radiator warning light went off. I have double and triple checked all fuses & circit breakers, all the fans seem to work, the two in front o the radiator only turn on if the A/C is going (I thought they would go on when the engine was hot~I dunno) any help. also on a side note my electric key lock stopped working the same day the alarm still works the doors still lock just the button on the key does not engage the lock/unlock anymore.

I had to replace my original radiator on my 90 LS400 at around 240K...I had a small leak in the radiator which triggered the warning light when fluid levels dropped in the plastic tank. The temp sensor? (part of the cap on the plastic tank) was replaced years before as i believe it was a known issue...I would think your radiator (if it's original) is at the end of it's life span..
