Default I am in need of some help!

I got in myy 99 ls400 fri. night and it wouldnt start. Or even turn over. But everything seemed to work fine. After about a dozen attempts turning the key, it finally started and the check engine light came on. The car ran fine though. Same thing yesterday morning. Then I got in last night and it started right up and the engine light was off. This morning, started right up. But after about 5 mins of driving the engine light came on. Any idea of what this could be?? Help please!

Take it in and have the error codes read.

Your car is OBDII, so autozone can read the code to let you know what is going on. They simply have to plug in the tool and read away.

Ok. Went to autozone. Heres the read out.... 1. Catalytic converter defective
2. Engine misfire or running condition 3. Large vacuum leak 4. Engine oil leakage into exhaust - valve guide seals, piston rings. WHAT THE HELL!! It seems like it would be the starter. The car runs JUST FINE! I don't think this read out is correct. Any opinions?

When you say reset ecu, do you mean by disconnecting the battery for awhile?

Unhook battery for 15 minutes and then hook back to reset ecu.

Just monitor over the next couple of days to see if any of the previous symptoms show up as before. May have just needed to be reset. If they do pop up again,, get a new reading of the codes and then go from there.
