Default UFC10 Heated Seat Help!

Quick question...

I am trying to hook up factory heated seats from a 90-91 model in my 93.

I was just going to use the factory ashtray from the models that came with heated seats (already installed and hooked up in my 93) as well as pull those seats and have them rewrapped to match my interior.

My question is - is this just a plug and play affair into my 93, or will I need to take some other parts off of the car with the heated seats?

Also, how different are the seats from the 90-92 compared to the 93-94? Reason I ask is mine currently have the automatic headrest that moves up and down, and I don't remember my buddies 90-92 model having that...?

Thanks guys!

i have a 91.. and we do have the automatic headrests.. the button for that is the same as the one that tilts your back support infront or back.. if you twist it to the right, it brings the back support ahead, and vice versa.. and if you pull that same button up it raises the headrest.. just telling you this to give you a better understanding of the seats on a 90-92 model.. i'm pretty sure they're the same

Ok great...I may have just overlooked it then.

Now, anyone have input on the seat heaters?

One important difference - at least to me - is that the front passenger side seat in the 90-92 does not have height adjustments for the seat cushion and is missing a power lumbar support. I absolutely hated the front passenger seat in the 90 LS I had for many years -- which meant I always had to drive on trips. The fully adjustable front passenger seat was probably the single most advertised feature when the 93 LS was introduced in 1992. So many people complained about the 90-92 LS front passenger seat that the local Lexus dealer bought fully adjustable driver's seats from the U.K. and installed in the passenger seat position in customer's cars.

Maybe someone else can help you with that question. I forgot when the memory seats with the power headrests became standard -- it was either with the 95 or 98 LS400. In my area, memory seats with power headrests did not seem to be very common on the gen 1 LS. Neither my or my next door neighbor's 90 LS had that feature although the feature seemed to become more common by the end of the end of the gen 1 LS (1992) run.

Whether or not a gen 1 90-92 LS has heated seats is not tied to whether or not the car has memory seats with power headrests. You can modify the following URL, over-typing the model year in each of the two places, to see the specs for LS cars from 1990 through about 2005: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/1990/1990LSspecs.pdf

Great, thanks a bunch Kansas.

I found this car at a local salvage yard, so depending on the cost of the seats, I'll probably just purchase them and brainstorm as to how I can get this all to work.

I appreciate the link...time to get to work!

I recommend getting more information before you buy those 91-92 seats -- there may be ECU issues you would have to deal with. Why can't you restore the seats in your 93 or find replacements from a 93-94 LS?

Is getting heated seats the only reason you want to do this? Heated seats are nice but not very important unless the temperature is substantially below freezing.
