im curious to see what you paid for your ls400 second gen.
so finally i can go shopping for a ls400 tomarrow. im curious to see what you paid for it and how many miles on it. im trying to figure out whats a good price to pay. especially the way the market is in the car business. there should be great deals to be had. my original goal was 95-97 because of the updates since the first gens but im seeing i might have a chance to get the 98-00. im torn because if i get the earlier gen i can buy some mods for it but if i get the later gen no mods but newer car. but yeah if you dont mind me asking what you paid and how many miles are on them when you bought it. thanks guys.

You should get a 2.5 and WAIT to do mods haha
I got my 97, Dec 07 ~130k. The interior is pretty much flawless. The exterior is in great shape. She now has +152k
Paid $7g. I love it.

find out what has been done with the car, especially maintenance. i paid $4000 for my 1996 2 months ago, but already spent $1150 for timing belt, water pump, and all other fluids flushed. the car does have 126K miles but needs a lil TLC on the interior

1997 Gen II bought in Nov. '06; 80,780 miles; great shape in and out and COMPLETE records of all service done at Lexus since it was purchased there.
I paid $10,900; I had to get new tires, new front brakes (had the disks turned) so my actual cost is more like $11,500. Since I have had it (almost two years) I have added 30k miles. Lately I have had the timing belt and water pump replaced, changed appropriate fluids, had a proper alignment, etc.
Great car.

i know what you mean. i had a sc400 so i feel your pain on the maintenance. that also allowed me to find signs of what needs to be done. so i know what to look for. for some reason im looking more and more towards the 95-97 model years. just love the way it looks. so well see what i pick up tomarrow.

my cousin had a 95, thats the reason why i went with a 95-97 model..the 98+ are a more pricey but a 95-97 can look just as good with a couple clear lens and woodgrains IMO. whatever you do, if you are looking into modifying, make sure the maintenance is up to date FIRST!! people like to modify before maintaining, then something goes wrong and they're outta cash .. Good luck!!
