Angry acceleration problem

I had a major tune-up, three new cats put on, but the first two that were installed were smaller than the originals (the aftermarket cats are new copy cat brand lexus catalytic converter equilvalent oem number 18450-50010). The company i ordered the cats from is called euro parts direct. I don't know if the size has anything to do with it, but i've been dealing with this no power issue for three weeks now. Hurricane Ike has caused power outages in my area so fixing a car was hard to do. Anyhow, this car has been a pain in the @###. My wife and i are tired. The problem with the car is i have problems accelerating, especially up hills. I'm afraid to go to the dealership, because it may be too high. I've researched all through the cat forums to no avail. The mechanic said i was fine, the only problem was to go back to the muffler guy and completely weld the leak in front of the third cat. After that was done, everything seemed ok until i tried to accelerate. Don't know what's going on. Help please.

Unhappy

I just remembered, the last time i checked, at least where i live, a diag is about $118-$124 dollars. I can't recall a diag being $100 dollars. If anyone knows of a lexus dealership in the houston area that charges $100 dollars for a diag let me know please. Thanks

Really sounds like the iginition coils are going bad, especially if the car isn't fast enough to get out of it's own way. I had this acceleration problem when mine went bad, but un my case, things went downhill REALLY fast. Replaced the coils, burned off some of the excess gas which was being dumped into the exhaust,,, no more problem.

Is this dianostics the same as doing a DIY error code check.

See lexls.com for a tutorial if that is what your reffering to.
