Default Brake clicking and slight leak help

Well I finished the install on the coilovers and the 19 inch wheels friday. Car looks great. Drove it 450 miles all weekend (one tank of gas, hit 457.7 before gas light came on).

Met up with lexcost (from this forum) friday night and he wanted to check out my car.

Few questions (I have parts incoming for the whole maint on the car, from rear brake pads, to front hood struts, to all timing belt gear/wp/idlery pully/plugs and wires).

1)But the front brake is making a "clicking noise" when the pedal is pressed all the way down. I checked the pads, and the pads are fine. LEXCOST was saying it could be lower ball joints but it only happens when I press the pedal down, sounds like a "old creaking desk" intermittent "click...click...click.."

Any advice?

2) The driver side CV boot has some grease/oil on it and looks wet, passenger side is all dry. I didn't get to check it this weekend, but something is leaking lightly, and it is getting caught right on that rubber part. No oil in the garage floor at all. Any thoughts?

Will have pics of coilover/wheels tomorrow. Couldn't find the camera over the weekend. Also doing all the maint on the car this week, so a little busy

On #1, I have the exact same sound.......I know my lower ball joints are bad (got the parts + tie rods and bushings for strut bar, just need to find a shop)
so maybe that is is....my brakes seem ok otherwise.

Hmm I see. Yeah my front pads are fine, just making the noise. I am doing a 1900 mile trip with my Lexus, so I wanted to make sure all maint is done.

What is the repurcussions of bad lower ball joints?

look for balljoint and control arm bushings going bad, also look at the high pressure hose on the PS rack having a dead/bad fitting.

Thanks! The PS pump was changed at the dealer a while back. That could be the culprit.

Thanks!

Determined the slight leak (seepage) is coming from the steering rack. Immediate fix necessary?

looking at dealer paper work, power steering pump was changed at 70k, and car has 117k now.

Input appreciated.
