it's easy; it will work fine. remove the stock rear sub. leave the hole open.
get a line output convertor. tap the sub signal wires. run the rca's to your sub amp. wire up power cable to sub amp. place sub box in trunk, install wire from amp to sub box. tune amp. done.
if you want new door speakers, remove door panels, removed original speakers, modify wiring harness to plug into aftermarket speakrs, install speakers in place of originals. reinstall door panel.
if you want an amp on your door speakers, that's a whole new project.

this is easy,
no line converters, nothing. All you need is a set of RCA leads your willing to sacrifice and a aftermarket amp and sub/box
The standard head deck already sends a signal to the standard amp on the left hand side of the boot behind the paneling.
Go onto lextreme.com get your self a wiring diagram. If you need someone to explain what wires go where and how to read a diagram you shouldnt be attempting this yourself.
ok in the boot: wire the output from the standard headdeck (goes into standard amp, just chop the wires here) into 2sets of rca leads. plug them into the after market amp. now the new amp has a signal. steal the power cable for the standard amp and use that as the remote wire. You still will have to run a power cable from the boot as standard wiring isnt up to the task of probley 98% of aftermarket amps.
Now your done.
This setup wont allow you to have much level control over the sub tho. All will have to be controled via the gain control on the amp.
Hope this helps.
if it doesnt, i suggest you see a professional or suck up to your mate and get him to do it.

Radio
I tried to hold on to mine but it was not up to par save yourself the time and money. Just buy a new radio and order the dash kit! I put in a jvc unit it really made my aftermarket speakers and sub sound 100 times better!
