Default How can you tell ?(AC Question)

Daughter bought a 91 LS400. AC Works but very lite cooling. Has a lite blue cap on the LP side. I have a few cans of R12. No ya can't have 'em. How do I tell that it has not been switched to R134? Is there some telltale sign?

according to the info above, the UCF10 (90-92) had R12 refrigerant

and this is to recharge a R134 but doesnt help if u dont know it.

on my 93 LS theres a sticker on the condenser fans thats labeled "R-134". behind the grill there are two fans and the sticker should be near the passenger fog light. hope this info helps.

the head of the r12 looks like a valve stem..... the head of the r134 looks like a fitting for air tools its more fatter looking and smother. i dont know if that helps

OK, by what you just told me.....if my old R12 hose fits the imput, it has not been upgraded to a R134 system....correct? If thats the case, if it fits I`m good to go? Would they change the imput on the low pressure side automatically when it is converted??

Well it was R134. By the fitting. Put half a can in, pressure around 32. Works!

Thanks all
