It need Japanese programs with the nav unable to work as it only has Asia maps.
The radio frequencies do not match North America as well as the tv not being pal.

i had no idea tehy had those back then for our cars. too bad it would only be a novelty since you'd need the harness and modules to make it work.

How much would that unit cost? i'd buy it, but I would just want it as a faceplate, I'd gut the electronics and use my own aftermarket stuff..

That would be a great addition!! Lots of work!! But a great addition. Out of pure curiosity how much and how much of the harness would it come with?

there is also a OEM TV tuner module for this unit but it most likely mounts in the trunk. Cant imagine what the differences in the harness must be! whole car front 2 back HAS to be different......

no harnesses come with this unit. I believe they are part of the car's dash harness

When he said JAPES...i wasnt thinking Japanese people. =D

But isnt there a way to have that screen display a different set-up? Like say an AVIC...couldnt you use the touch screen on the OEM to work with the ECU of the navi? Might be a custom job, but im thinking of trying it for my navi on my 99

i think about all you could do is get the climate control part working and use the hole to mount another screen. maybe run a carputer or something else hidden away. might be hard to mount any conventional in dash system in there
