Default LS compared to newer Toyota Camry.

I know the Camry isnt exactly the "same" as the LS 400, but it is the car that I am most interested in if I ever had to replace my Lexus with a Toyota vehicle. Not that I would do that in the foreseen future, but I actually like its stying. The big Toyota emblem in the front, clear red taillights stock, ok wheels and tires, good engine, and leather. How do you like the 08'-09' Camry?

LS400+Money= VIP, Camry+FF= MOM! Speak for yourself. LS400s fixed up would totally own a stock Benz or BeeMerW. Camrys are just another car in the crowd.

Get an LS400 and spend some bucks to make it reliable, good looking and yes, FAST!

Having owned 2 Camry's in the past, I still have a great love for them; however my LS totally owns it. For a daily beater, or just somethung to toss around, not a bad choice. However the current bodystyle Camry gets a big NO from me , except in the SE styling. That grill is HUGE and looks like a really bAD nose job. It is almost as if it is just begging a plastic surgeon to just take a little off the tip and reform it into somethig beautiful. The way the big emblem just over hangs the grill (which really needs some help in the looks department) just turns me off. At least on the SC package, with the mesh inlayed grill, it at least looks like it belongs there, and is really quite attractive.

i have a 93 camry and its a great car, i use it to get back and forth to work, about 60 miles a day, it has 180,000 miles on it, i replaced the timing belt,wp,hoses, radiator, thermostat and the serp belt, this car has not given me one ounce of problems, more than i can say for my 92 ls 400

Camry is a great car - no doubt about it. However it does not and can never compare to the LS. I remember buying an Avalon XLS in 1999 to replace my 95 LS. Long story short I spent thousands on wheels, tires, etc. to modify it and kept it for just one year before selling it. I decided to keep my 95 LS back then and still have it today. It just was not the same to drive, own, etc.

The Camry though is a fantastic car - I prefer the SE as trukn1 said.

I faithfully drove my 92 Camry to a mileage of 598K(mostly highway) before I sold it to a used car dealer and bought an Expedition.

I don't like the new Camry. If I were in the market for a similar vehicle I would buy a new Honda Accord.

Dude, thats reliable? Theres a guy who turned 500k miles on his LS400, and replaced nothing but wear and tear items. you must have been VERY unlucky with your LS400.

lmao....it was due for a timing belt, i dont just replace the belt, when a job like that is done u replace everything that can and will go wrong in the future, that way u r secure in knowing u have all new parts and the cooling system is done...... but u r right, i have had nothing but bad luck with my ls 400

Sorta true.. but you can slam a Camry too and it wouldnt look like a mom car.

There is nothing "FAST" about the LS400. And for the record, the new Camry SE V6 does 0-60 faster than a 1995 LS400 anyday. There is a bigger market for parts on that car as a friend has ALREADY bought a turbo for his 07 SE and its rediculously fast.

I like the camry but FWD keeps me away.
