Default Cost to turn 94 rotors

Already asked about brake pads, now I have a rotor question. About how much did you guys pay to have your rotors turned (can't afford new rotors right now....or in the forseeable future.)

Seriously? My dad has an F250, so naive lol, and he was charged $30 for each rotor, but that might be because he had really wide diameter rotors.

You mean turning as in cutting? That should cost $15 MAX per rotor wherever you go. $30 per rotor is ridiculous, you might as well just buy new rotors at that cost. Any decent shop that has a brake machine should be able to do it quite easily, but they'll have to check if your rotors are still within the specifications. If your rotors are too run down you might just be out of luck and in that case, you'll have to start saving for new rotors.

Around here, at multiple places like R&S Strauss and Pep Boys you can get free brake inspections. I'd say go get one of those first to see if your rotors are within specs to be cut (turned).

Yeah. R&S is a rip-off. It was $15 a rotor there :P I never ever turn rotors, but that's because I run drilled/slotted... and I just kinda dont like turning them period.

I think the next set I get will be just slotted and I'll get them turned for trueness. Otherwise I'll just have them make sure they're true from the manufacturer :P

Anybody have experience with Colony Tire or Merchants Tire? I'm pretty sure my rotors will be in spec, the previous owner was really lazy and probably thought that magic stopped the car and not the brakes. I found walnut shells and leaves all in my engine bay the first time I worked on it.

I dont know why anyone would get the rotors cut anymore with the price of new ones being so low. Then again i dont have a new vehicle to check rotor prices but the ones i have gotton were pretty inexpensive.

It depends. A pair of new rotors would have cost me $100 at least. I got mine cut instead for $10 total. As long as they're thick enough, I dont see any reason why you shouldn't, unless you're paranoid

Even if the rotors are wide, cutting is the same. The cutting blades can be moved to accommodate the thickness. Did he bring in the rotors or was it on the car already?
