Default New toys..

Woooodgrain steering wheel and shifter:

I bought a center console and a 7" Lilliput VGA touch screen for my CarPC. I will either be molding the screen into the console, or buying a Metra radio install kit and molding it into there. I'm keeping my Nakamichi headunit and using PureDrifters AUX-IN mod to connect the audio.

For those interested, these are the 95-97 clear corners I have listed in the for sale section:

So ur 98 didnt come with a wood steering wheel and shifter? I guess Idk the UCF-20 II that well. Thought they all came with the nice extra wood amentities.

Btw, where can I get that little wood piece that is above the radio? Can it be installed on my 95?

wood/leather wheel and shift **** were optional in 98 and became standard for 99+00 models.

I think I will. I'm going to need 2 aux inputs (1 for comp, 1 for mp3 player/phone).... some double relay action?

Looks good!

I am in slight need of a new steering wheel and shifter for my 94 LS 400 -- Has a dark gray leather interior. The shifter has a 'worn' spot on the leather, so replacing it would be great, and the steering wheel has some slight wearing as well. Nothing major, but if the price is right I would replace if possible.

I've found the shifters,.. though I am hesitant because of the 'match' of the wood grain. Are those shifters a direct match, or do they clash with the factory grain?

Also where did you find steering wheel replacements? Are they aftermarket or did you find one used?

Looks like you are setup, alot of work ahead of you but I bet it will look great.

They were taken off a 99. OEM, not aftermarket. Unfortunately, the same setup will not work on your first gen.

Your best bet is to find used wheel/shifter in good condition or get yours refinished.

the 98-00 and supposedly 00-03/4 LS430 steering wheels will BOLT on to the 95-97, but the problem is that lexus switched to a dual ignition airbag system, so you can have the wheel but the airbag wont work...

By looking closely at the wheel, it's possible that you may be able to switch out the 95 internals into the 98 wheel and use your 95 airbag. Don't take my word for it, though.

It looks like it's a matter of unscrewing your 95 pieces (harness and everything that's attached to it) and screwing it into the new wheel.
