what the hell is this **** and what does it do?

its under the steering wheel about 3" farther down than the hood release. i have turned it both ways and nothing happens. thought it might be an adjustment for the powersteering ratio but dunno. anyone want to educate this noob?

Most likely you are referring to your alarm sensitivity/volume ****. Adjust it clockwise all the way and press your lock/arm button on your remote, now move it all the way counter clockwise. Press again. Yes, even the Lexus changes that.
