Default Lsportline wheels on my 96...

In my endless struggle to find a used set of wheels for this car I finally gave up on finding a set of 20s with enough clearance for the big brake. Oh dont get me wrong I found a crap load of beautiful wheels but after buying a set and getting home to learn about the big brake I started trying them on right were ever I met up with people and ofcourse not enough clearance.
Road by this rim shop and pulled in to see what they had and I found a set of 18s that I thought were ls430 wheels but they have " Lsportline " on one spoke of each rim. I was told they are an aftermarket dealer item. Guy came in and traded on a set of 22s.
They look like the Zenetti five chrome wheels, and the ls430 wheels but not as thick a spoke.
I bought the rims with tires because I just got tired of looking. They look pretty good but I definately need a drop. Could someone tell me how to post pics on here to show you guys and also if any of you have a set or know where I could look them up to confirm this info.

you got the LSportline Model IV's or II's

^M II

^M IV

wheels are easy to find if you do your homework and specifically tell everyone you need a wheel with "big brake" clearance...

Mine look almost like the IV but without the rivets in between the spokes around the rim. Tried googleing them and couldnt find mine or a distributor of them. Is there a link I could go to?
As far telling someone about the wheels being big brake compatible and them actually understanding what i mean/need was harder then I thought
There's only so many "...it's 5x114 so they will fit... or ...its the offset you need to worry about..." that I could take and that dumb founded look on there faces when the wheels didn't fit is classic. More people dont actually know about bbk then one thinks unless they have actually experiance it first hand.

what kind of brake kit are you running that you need 20"s to clear them? 14 inch rotor willwood kit for my supra only require 18's.

2LS brakes are only 10mm smaller in rotor diameter than stock supra TT rotors but the problem they have (that supras have to some extent as well) is that both halves of the calipers are ALUMINUM.

supra TT calipers iirc are half alum/half steel or 100% steel.

because of this the calipers are decently Wider/thicker than the TT calipers, and require more clearance on the inside of the rim.

2LS 99.9999999% of the time require a "high disk" wheel setup.

J-stuff-those wheels were designed by one of the FIRST Lexus tuners and were often seen on the LS, imho the LS cant get any better than a good 5spoke wheel like the Miv

i was referring to my mk3 supra, though stock brakes for a mk4 are nowhere near 14inch. They also fit easily under 17's so brakes that are smaller regardless of caliper material wouldn't need more then 18's, there not that much bigger.

Either way, stock brakes would definitely clear 18's and even a BBK 14.1 inch rotors with 6 piston fully aluminum calipers clear most 18's aswell. IIRC 2ls's come factory with 16's, no?

Buying 20's+ to clear brakes is way overkill unless you have like 16+ inch rotors or something ridiculous.

Only problem i can see with 18's and a BBK is the shape of the spokes and the face of the caliper. the ID of the wheel should be sufficient though.

Still wondering what brake kit he has, or is getting since he mentioned it.

you're not LISTENING.

he has STOCK 2LS brakes, the CALIPERS for which are WIDER than most cars(and many aftermarket BBKs), this causes clearance issues as in the CALIPER hitting the RIM FACE.

NOT the rotor size being too big. this is how LS' get away with using a 16" wheel from the factory, they are HIGH DISK.

so please research before reccoing something, unless wheels are specifically HIGH DISK then they WILL NOT CLEAR 2LS BRAKES!

there are other oem wheels that will clear, such as the stock 16s, 17s, and 18s available on the LS430, the 18s from the GS350/460, most likely the 18s from the 2IS, and supposedly the 16s from 89-92 Supra Turbos.

God I love the MIV. Very jealous...

you can attach photos with the upload form when you make a new post.
Or use photobucket.com , very simple!

Thats worded as if he has a big brake kit, i guess a misunderstanding.

The point was why 20's to clear brakes, the stock brakes obviously arent that big, and i was under the impression he had a BBK.

What is there to research? i know my information, i know what you were saying, saying "enough clearance for the big brake" and wanting 20's, put me under the impression he had a big brake kit and needed wheels that big to clear them.

Oh well, doesn't matter.

Sorry if I confused some in what I ment by BBK but that is what i read it being called here in the forum, or high/low disk for that matter.
I guess I could say a "fat/wider then normal" caliper is what I need clearance for. I even said the space between behind the face of the rim and where it bolts up to the rotor is where the clearance needs to be.
I wanted 20s because i think it looks good on the 2LS, fills the wheel well really nice and imoa you dont have to drop it as much to get the right look.
And now a new dilema, I just came across a set of 19" staggard Zenetti wheels that I like. Oh the agony......
Thanks for the list Puredrifter on what should fit from the stock pile.
