Default 99 LS400 one owner, 56K, Buy Or no Buy?

hi Guys just want to say hi, I always wanted an ls 400, and now the opportunity has come. there is a 99 ls400 with 56K one owner, has all the service, silver and grey interior, car is in nice mint condition. he wanted $16000 I was able to get it down to $15400 and that was his bottom price.
Guys should I buy it or not?
any issue i should look for for a 99 model year?

thanks in advance, hope to be a proud owner of the most reliable and smoothest cars in the world.

its a high price but not bad given the mileage.

make sure to spend the extra ~$100 to have the car checked out by a local lexus/toyota dealership for a pre-buy inspection.

A bit of a premuim price, but the mileage is low. Considering that you'll may be driving the car up to 200K+ miles, the premium will come out in the wash. I say go for it.

There are potential issues with the tilt/telescope steering wheel mechanism. There were several TSIBs on the issues - I think I posted them on this forum awhile back. Since the car is out of warranty, if the problems develop, it could cost up to about $2,000 to fix.

You can find the complete list of TSIBs on the ARRC link at http://www.bedlib.org/ebsco.html user = lib password = access

Does the car have the navigation system? If so, it has very few POIs, old technology and there probably will be no more updates.

Verify that the car is optioned like you want. Here is information about the 1999 LS400: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/1999/1999LSspecs.pdf
(The specs are incorrect in that rear heated seats were not available on the U.S. spec 1999 LS400 - only in other countries.)

I got mine for $16,995 from a Lehigh Valley Lexus PA with 64k miles in May 07 so your price isn't too bad.
