water pump replacement
Well my wife started the car this morning and noticed it was leaking so brought it to my attention.
I pulled the plastic tray under the engine and sure enough coolant was coming from the weep hole. I noticed a few days ago it was noisier under the hood than usual. There was a slight clunking sound until the car had warmed up. Anyway, it looks like a water pump replacement job is needed.
I have read that it is best to replace the timing belt at the same time, but mine was replaced maybe 20-30k miles ago at the lexus dealer by the previous owner. I probably won't replace that unless the cams or crank seals are leaking. I'll check the fan bracket, but it there any way to determine how close it is to failure? I really just want to get the car fixed and running in the least amount of time and the cheapest possible. I'll be doing all of the work myself.

It's a simple job, but a real pain having to remove everything.
filthy radiator.
I decided not to replace the bracket because no one had one. The timing had been done by lexus a few years ago by the PO.
I really wanted the car to be running tomorrow, so I used auto zone parts for the new timing belt $31, rotors $15, caps $40, wires $65, and ngk spark plugs $65. The water pump I got from lexus $160 the only place that had one.
Everything was staight forward and it runs good again.
