LS400 Electrical problem solved
Thought you'd like to know about my 93 electric problem. Symptoms were that the car just died on me but 1st of all all the warning lights came on for a few minutes. So I checked the belt and it was fine, The battery was not more that 3 years old so I charged it up and all the warning lights stayed on from the start, didn't go out at all unless I really revved the engine. then it eventually died. Gotta be the alternator so ordered one from usa. Fitted the alternator and charged the battery, presto, no warning lights coming on after the initial startup. Not what it seemed as the thing lasted 20 minutes then the warning lights were back and it died. What now, I was convinced the battery was ok but sod it throw some brass at it with another battery. Got a top spec Bosch. Needless to say all is fine now. From the symptons of the warning lights they were behaving almost correctly with the new alternator so it seems that both battery and alternator were goosed, one had messed up the other one.
Best thing is I'd missed the big beauty cos my other car is a Hyundai Accent, UGH!!!
