Default How much for install on leather seat covers?

I found leather seat covers that are advertised for a 1993 Lexus LS400.
Seat covers are from leatherseats.com

2 questions:

1. Will these fit my 1991 Lexus LS400?

2. What is the cost of installation? I've heard $1,000 and $300 but I'm not sure which is accurate. Some people say to take to upholstery shop, do they really take out the seats and cover? (I doubt it).

I'd appreciate any help. Love the forum. Keep up the good work guys.

do it yourself, it's easy. just get some hog ring pliers from a tool shop and some hog rings. the first one you do will take a few hours but after that you'll get the next one done in 1 hour.

Back when I had my 2nd Gen it cost me $600 to have the leatherseats.com covers installed. I took it to a "hole in the wall" upholstery shop and yes they did remove the seats and old covers. The car looked brand new when they finished. Others have reported good results when doing it themselves with the proper tools.

I paid either $400.00 or $450.00 to have mine installed here in Dallas.

That's kind of like a car salesman saying, "forget the Lexus GS 460, I've got a nice Camry sitting right here."

Kids...

Sheep skin is used anywhere comfort is paramount and muscle fatigue is a concern. Long haul airlines, truckers, cruising bikes, wheelchairs, etc. Extensively used for horse saddles for centuries.

Real sheepskin is cool in summer and warm in winter. Protects your leather. Mercedes sells them as OEM upgrade for high end cars. Perfect cure for some gen 1 LS400s with hard seats with heat not working.

My driver's seat needs more cushion. Can an upholstery shop handle that job as well?

Absolutley. I had them add more lumbar support to mine. That is the advantage to taking it to a professional.

you can add your own bolstering as well while you have the leathers off. just get some high density foam (which is what the factory uses) and cut it to fit where you want. be careful you don't overstuff it though, as the leather won't stretch too far and you won't be able to get it fastened.
