Default Hard to describe clanking/clunking/knocking sound... with pics!

I have noticed that when my car is idling, A/C off, there is an ever-so-little sound coming from the engine... more specificly where I outlined in red in the picture. Its really hard to trace down to one spot... I used my stethoscope to try, but the noise seems to "move around". By that I mean it seems to be a clanking/clunking/knocking noise that is hollow and hard to find an exact point where its coming from. The belt looks ok, and under the timing belt cover I removed i noticed that belt pulley moving a LLLIIITTTLLLEEEE bit up and down, but it wasnt making the noise, as far as I could tell.

So sum it up, its a little noise (knocking/clunking/clanking) thats very hard to notice till you listen intently for it. I would take a video, but I dont think it would even show up its so quiet..it doesnt sound like a rod or lifter either...

Can anyone lend me any ideas? Thanks!

Yeah, might be fan bracket. I let mine got really loud and bad (start seeing metal shavings) because I couldn't figure out what the sound was.

I see you got the same problem as me on the coolant fluid overflow from the reservor.

If it's bad enough you can see the fan blade wobbling a little. Otherwise, look closely under and behind the fan clutch (toward the engine) to find metal shavings.

Ok you guys this is just uncanny and weird.

So my fan bracket siezed at the beginning of NOV (replaced with new). My friends Fan bracket disintegrated at the end of nov (replaced with used pull a part). Now my mom's fan bracket is dieing and my friends used bracket is going bad too! is that just weird???????

4 brackets all going bad within a month of each other at all different mileage (147k,169k,188k,240k)?
