Bad AC evaporator

98 LS400 The evap went bad on my car (101,000 miles) and the dealer wants $1800.00 to fix. Does anybody have any better ideas. Last one I had installed 6 yrs ago on a 92 cost $1000.00. Anyone know of a good shop in the Cocoa, Melbourne Florida area.
