I again noticed today that rear heated seats were listed as a option on the U.S. specification LS400 from the 1997 through the 2000 model year:

I have seen a buttload of 97-00 LS400s over the years but I have never seen one - at least in the U.S. - with rear heated seats.

Were rear heated seats really an option in the U.S.?

Does anyone have them? If so, where are the switches mounted?

If I remember correctly, in countries where rear heated seats on the LS400 were standard or available, the switches were under a flip-up panel on the rear center armrest.

Perhaps this can lead to another one of those "hidden features" that we never knew about! I'm anxious to see if this is true or if it is merely a typing error.

Those same PDF's say that HID's were an option on 1997 LS400's, so I'm guessing it's an error on their part.
