Default 98-00 LS400 Xenon Foggies...

I know this falls under "Lighting" as well, but my auto-leveling on my current HID headlights are not working so insurance is going to buy me 2 new headlights. I'm going to keep the old and try retrofitting these into my fog lights.

Given the size of these, is this workable? expensive? and has anyone done this before?

Thanks,
Jason

easiest thing to do is to sell the ballasts from your old ones and buy a cheap 9006 HID kit. (~150 or less)

you COULD use the ballasts you have but you STILL need to buy some rebased 9006 bulbs then do all the wirings and ish.

i would NOT run regular D2R bulbs jb-welded into a fog housing, the pattern would be HORRIBLE.

I have had my oem phillips ballasts hooked up to my fogs using 4300k bulbs.
I got a set of 9006 bases to add to the bulbs so i could normally insert them. The other option is to buy the bulbs off ebay for $100 already done and ready to go . The rebased bulbs are much better and usually aligned well compared to the ones where you have to modify the bulbs base to fit the collar on .

BTW the pattern still sucks to i took out the inner shroud to allow more light out . It is real bright now and works like a fog light should . I light up the sidewalk beside me every where i go.

I too would just but D2S/R 9006 rebased bulbs from ebay and use your OEM ballast. Once I got them off ebay for about $60 a pair, but I see they are abouy $100 a pair now. Still way cheaper than getting them from the dealer or buying a complete HID kit that doesn't use the OEM center pin type connector.

I too have taken the inner piece of metal out of the fog light. I'm glad you found that SK, because I would have never noticed. I have Silverstar Fogs, and on those rainy nights in town where the roads have no reflectors, I can use my fogs to see the lines, perfectly
