Default Oil Leak Under My Ls

Hello to every lexusER..

I noticed recently an oil leak under my car.. I tried to follow it up and I took this picture..

what can it be.

** It started when I changed the oil from the AC Delco 3000K to the new 7000k; does it matter.
Car is doing now 275k+ 91 model.

Appreciate any help..

Thanks irate:

Is it oil or ATF/transfluid? To me it looks as though your power steering is leaking. Maybe the idle valve. Doubt that it is the main seal as the leak appears rather brisk in nature. If you follow your power steering hoses up they should have some drip on them. my $0.02

I second on the rear main seal. I had to change the seal on mine and took me near 8 hours to complete. What a pain in the *** it was to take down that transmission. Also make sure you have the right parts and tools before taking on this task. Good luck!

It looks like it could be the real main to me as well. Clean off the underside of the car and check again in a day or two so that you can more easily see where it's coming from.

i'm betting rear main because of the age and mileage of the car. once you have th trans out, i'ts no big deal to replace it.
