1. I ran an open air filter setup for a few days but have switched back to stock.

Apexi pod filter installed inside the standard airbox on a custom adaptor .

K&N cone filter w/ MAF adapter.

decent setup. sounds good. gonna build a better heat shield other than a piece of cardboard when I find some time and motivation to do it. :-/

Open air filter for me... I think it's the Lexkost method, where there was no cutting involved.

I've noticed better gas mileage, but that may also have to do with the fact I cleaned out the air filter when doing the modification.
