Possible fix for climate control LCD
It has been very hot lately, and I have noticed that the climate/clock LCD works when temps outside are over 90 deg. car interior is probably 100+. As the A/C cools the car the display fades back to black. Has anyone tried to install a few 12v resisters attached to the glass of the LCD to heat it? I realize this is a completely crappy way to fix it... and that heat is what kills the display to begin with... But it might work.. and there is little to lose by trying it.
I have never had it appart... so I don't know if there is room to mount anything in there... but I thought I would mention it. The display being out.. has not really bothered me anyway.. and I know I can get it replaced for about $180....
Just a thought.

Just replace the LCD unit , there's a guy here in Aus who has Glass replacements for a really good price , his units have the best possible heat range availiable .
Don't know if they have to be left or right , I don't think it would matter , he is also doing the later gen 2 split ones now as well .
